- Historical Landmark Series - While new buildings are necessary additions to Department 56's already existing cities and countrysides, there's something to be said about the tried and true. With this in mind Historical Landmark Series was started in 1997. Landmark buildings are important parts of our history, culture, and architecture. They impress us with their unique visual appeal, architectural excellence, and by withstanding the passage of time. Though none of us can see every landmark in the world with our own eyes, we can appreciate them because of the role they play in history. From housing royal jewels to keeping time for the world, each historical landmark is a treasure to behold.
- The Heritage Village Collection: The Heritage Village Collection includes several lighted Village series, each with its own distinctive style. Each piece is handcrafted of porcelain, individually hand painted, and characterized by the matte finish. Extensive research contributes to the charm and detail of each piece. Cast into the mold is the Department 56 logo -- a guarantee of authenticity. Every year pieces are retired from production and the molds broken. This limites the number of pieces and allows for new additions. Special pieces often are created for the various Villages. These include limited editions, each adding to the unique character of the Village and capturing the imagination.
- The Dickens' Village Series - Step back in time to the cobblestone streets, gas street lamps, and horse-drawn carriages of our 19th century Dicken's Village Series.
